Privacy Policy

The short version

• We measure which pages get read, using Google Analytics. It is never linked to your name or to anything you send us.
• Advertising cookies are separate, and you can switch them off. Nothing else about the site changes if you do.
• We collect information only when you type it into a form.
• Photo booth data is deleted automatically after 24 hours. That is enforced by a scheduled job, not by us remembering.
• If you use our photo booth to collect guest details, those details reach us as well as you. The tool is free because of that. It is stated on the guest form before anyone types anything.
• You can ask us to delete anything we hold. [email protected].

What we collect, and when

Contact and help forms

Your name, email address, what you said, and which services you ticked. It is emailed to us, and your name and email are added to our mailing list so we can follow up and occasionally send something we have made. Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe.

Event Photo Booth, if you run one

The event name, your name or business, and your email address, so we can send you the guest list and the photos. Your event keys and, if you use one, your OpenAI API key are stored in your own browser and are never sent to us.

Event Photo Booth, if you are a guest at one

Your photo, and whichever of first name, last name, email address, phone number and rating the host chose to ask for. Handing those over is what the booth costs, and the form says so before you fill it in. They go to the host who ran the booth and to us, and both of us may use them to contact you about products, services and marketing. Your name and email are added to our mailing list, which every email we send lets you leave in one click.

Measurement

Google Analytics records which pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device you used. We use it to see which writing is worth doing more of. It runs for every visitor and is not something you switch off here; it is never joined to your name, your email, or anything you send us through a form.

Everything else

Nothing beyond the above. The Adaptive SVG tool runs entirely in your browser and your files are never uploaded, and the photo booth is covered by its own terms.

How long we keep it

• Photos and guest details: 24 hours from capture, then permanently deleted by a job that runs every hour. This is not a policy we apply by hand; expired records are removed whether or not anyone asks.
• One exception: if you agreed to be contacted, your name and email address are copied to our mailing list before the rest is deleted, and stay there until you unsubscribe. The photo, phone number and rating are not copied and still go at 24 hours.
• Guest lists sent to a host: once the CSV reaches the host's inbox it is theirs, and what happens to it after that is between them and their guests.
• Form submissions and mailing list: until you ask us to remove them, or you unsubscribe.

Who else touches it

We use a small number of services to run the site. They process data on our behalf and we do not sell information to anyone.

• Cloudflare — hosting, and the storage the photos and records live in.
• Resend — sends our email and holds our mailing list.
• Google Fonts — the booth loads typefaces from Google, which means Google sees the request and therefore your IP address.
• OpenAI — only if a host generates a frame using their own API key. The prompt goes to OpenAI. No guest details ever do.
• Sanity — stores the words in our blog. No visitor data.
• Google Analytics — only if you accepted. Nothing is requested from Google, not even the script, until you do.

Cookies

Two kinds. Measurement cookies, set by Google Analytics to tell one visit from another, run for everyone. Advertising cookies, which would let us tell whether an ad brought you here, are on by default and can be switched off below. Nothing else about the site changes if you turn them off.

Separately, the photo booth stores data in your browser so it can remember the events you set up and keep working on bad venue wifi. That is not a cookie, never leaves your device, and is not analytics.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and a person will answer. We do not require an account or a form to honour any of that.

If you gave your details at a photo booth and want them gone before the 24 hours are up, email us with the event and we will remove them.

Changes

If we change what we collect, we change this page and the date at the top. We will not quietly widen it.
